Salt still high on restaurant menus

Sodium kills. High sodium content in food is the single biggest problem in the American diet, Jacobson says. If American consumers cut their sodium intake in half, he estimates, it could save more than 100,000 lives annually and tens of billions of dollars in health care costs. Cutting back on sodium can lower the risk of high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes and kidney disease.
