United For Haiti is requesting the honor of your presence at our upcoming Tent Drive in Orlando. United under one umbrella, Haiti Without Borders have joined a group of 7 organizations to launch their second Tent Drive in Orlando in an effort to collect 4000 tents for Haiti. Under the umbrella of UNITED FOR HAITI, these organizations have been working together since the earthquake to provide relief to our people in Haiti. They Have demonstrated by their action that true unity is indeed possible.
As a kind gesture of solidarity with those in Haiti deprived of tents, our team will be sleeping in the tents for a period of 30 days to raise awareness as well as encourage those willing to donate a tent to help provide temporary shelter for a family in Haiti.
In partnership with City Commissioner Samuel B. Ings and Bishop Wiggins, United For Haiti has built a tent city on the grounds of The Hope Church of Orlando in preparation to the Tent Drive that will be launched on Thursday April 1, 2010. With support from the Hope Church of Orlando, First Baptist Church of Orlando, businesses and community leaders, we are hopeful that we will reach our goal of 4000 tents.
We encourage the entire Haitian community including the Haitian media and churches to come out in support of this noble initiative. We will have all kinds of activities: ranging from music, prayer services, domino contest, weekend activities for kids, food and drinks, etc. We are counting on your presence and participation to make this event a success.
